HOW TEAMS ARE FORMED
Recreational League: Returning players from our fall season will be placed on their same team. New players registering will be placed on previously established teams or on new teams as needed.
RECREATIONAL AGE DIVISIONS (PreK**, Kindergarten, Grades 1-2, 3-4, 5-6)
Teams will be formed by grade levels. Only PreK is coed.
Pre-school children** must turn 4 by May 1st, of the current year to be eligible to play.
All children in PreK, Kindergarten, and Grades 1 through 5 participate in the Recreational League. Grade 6 can play in the Recreational League or choose to play in the Middle School League (not managed by BWSA).
WHERE AND WHEN DO WE PLAY
Practices usually begin in late March depending on the weather and how quickly we can find coaches and set teams. Historically, finding enough coaches has been an issue. Games will start April 13th (weather permitting) and are scheduled to conclude by May 18th. Most games will be played on Saturdays with some Sunday and/or weeknight games during the season. Saturday games will begin between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. Practices are typically held on weeknights. Games for grade levels 3-4 and 5-6 will play some games in neighboring communities. Grades 2 and below will play at Hylen Souders Elementary School, 4121 Miller-Paul Road, Galena.
Returning fall players will stay on their same team and will not receive a new jersey. They will wear their fall jersey. New PreK - Grade 2 players will receive a Timbit jersey. New spring players in Grades 3+ will receive a reversible jersey.
All players must supply their own shorts, socks, shoes, soccer ball and required shin guards. Shoes may be soccer, baseball, or an all-purpose type of cleat. Metal cleats are not permitted. Tennis shoes, while permitted for the Recreational League, are not recommended.
For each registration, the seasonal fee is $125. Late fees are an additional $20. Register before February 3rd to avoid the late fee.
